Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor make it to beach volleyball final
Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor beat Brazil to make it through to the final against China’s Wang Jie and Tian Jia.
“We’ll just have to pretend the crowd is cheering for us,” May-Treanor said.
The match is scheduled for Thursday morning at 9:00A.M. Beijing time. The United States team have won 12 straight Olympic matches.
“We don’t really care about the streak,” said Walsh, the Saratoga native who played volleyball at Archbishop Mitty High and Stanford. “We’re just focusing on that medal. We have so much respect for the Chinese team. But we’ve got to work on our own game.”
