Slovakia’s Elena Kaliska won the gold medal in women’s kayak, slalom event at the Beijing Olympic Games. Australia’s Jacqueline Lawrence took the silver and Austria’s Violetta Oblinger Peters won the bronze.
Australia’s Leisel Jones has won the women’s 100 meter breaststroke, setting a new Olympic record in the process.

Choi Min-ho wins gold in men’s 60kg judo
Choi Min-ho from South Korea won the gold medal in the men’s 60kg division, beating Ludwig Paischer from Austria with an ippon. Ludwig Paischer won the silver.
Choi beat Dutch judoka Ruben Houkes in the semifinal in just 4 seconds. Rishod Sobirov from Uzbekistan and Ruben Houkes from Netherlands won the bronze medals.
