It was a disappointing day today for United States diving team. Mary Beth Dunnichay and Haley Ishimatsu finished fifth in the women’s 10 meter synchronized diving competition.
The divers were the youngest in competition, Dunnichay, 15, Elwood, and Ishimatsu, 15 but youth didn’t stop the Chinese from winning gold in the event. [...]
China wins gold in women’s 10m synchronized diving
World champions and favorites for the event, Xin Wang and Ruolin Chen have won the gold medal in another spectacular diving performance by the Chinese.
Australia’s Briony Cole and Melissa Wu won the silver medal and Mexico’s Paola Espinosa and Tatiana Oritz the bronze medal.
The Chinese team of Chen Ruolin and Wang Xin are going to be hard to beat in the Women’s 10m Synchronized Platform final which has just started. If China wins this event, it will be their third consecutive medal in the diving.

Australia picked up five medals at the FINA diving grand-prix being held in Rostock, Germany. Melissa Wu and Matthew Mitcham both finished with silver medals in the platform.

Chinese world champions Ruo Lin Chen and Xin Wang took out gold in the women’s 10-meter synchronized diving at the Canada Cup diving meet.
Melissa Wu and Briony Cole from Australia came second and Canadian pair Emilie Heymans and Marie-Eve Marleau came third.
