Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal of Spain defeated Fernando Gonzalez of Chile 6-3, 7-6(2), 6-3 to win the gold medal in the men’s single tennis at the Beijing Olympics.
Novak Djokovic from Serbia won the bronze medal.
