Fabian Cancellara from Switzerland wins men’s time trial

Fabian Cancellara from Switzerland has won the men’s time trial at the Beijing Olympics. Gustav Larsson from Sweden won the silver medal and Levi Leipheimer from the United States won the bronze.
Australia’s medal hopeful Cadel Evans finished fifth.

I can’t believe we are finally away. I am sure it was hard for the athletes competing this morning as the opening ceremony went pretty late. I think it would have been hard for them to sleep with all of the excitement.

Runner-up in the Tour de France, Cadel Evans from Australia, has had to withdraw from the time-trial at the Beijing Olympics after slipping on a wet floor and injuring his knee.
He is still however, hoping to compete in the road race at the Olympics.
