Germany wins gold medal in men’s hockey
Germany defeated Spain 1-0 to win the gold medal in men’s hockey at the Beijing Olympics.
Christopher Zeller was the only goal scorer for the game.
Earlier in the day, Australia crushed the Netherlands 6-2 to win bronze.
The United States have defeated Australia 92-65 to win its fourth consecutive gold medal in women’s basketball. It is the third Olympics the U.S. played Australia in the final.
Russia defeated China 94-81 to win the bronze medal.
Ken Wallace from Australia has won the gold medal in the men’s K1 500 meters.
Adam van Koeverden from Canada won the silver medal and Tim Brabants from Great Britain won the bronze.
Steve Hooker of Australia has won the gold medal in the men’s pole vault setting a new Olympic record of 5.96.
Evgeny Lukyanenko of Russia won the silver medal and Denys Yurchenko of the Ukraine won the bronze medal.
