Yoshida Saori wins gold in the in the women’s 55kg freestyle wrestling
Yoshida Saori from Japan beat China’s Xu Li to win the gold medal in the women’s 55kg freestyle wrestling.
Canada’s Tonya Verbeek and Colombia’s Jackeline Renteria both won bronze medals.
Zhang Xiangxiang won another gold medal for China in the men’s 62kg weightlifting. He lifted a total of 319 kilograms.
Diego Salazar of Colombia took the silver medal and Triyatno from Indonesia won the bronze.
Colombia will be sending it’s largest delegation to the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing. A total of 64 Colombians will compete at the games.
In 2004, Colombia won two bronze medals. One in Cycling and one in Weight Lifting. 55 athletes competed in Athens.
