There were no finals for Michael Phelps today in the swimming but he did win his heat in the 200 meter individual medley, setting himself up for his sixth gold medal of the Olympic games tomorrow.
His team mate Ryan Lochte is his main rival in tomorrow’s race.

I just switched the channel over to swimming and saw Michael Phelps touch the wall in the 400 meter individual medley.
The first swimming finals will be on tomorrow (Sunday).
Phelps breaks world record in 200 meter medley
Michael Phelps broke the world record with a time of 1:54.80 in the 200 meter medley on day six of the U.S. Olympic swimming trials.
He held the previous record of 1:54.98 which he set at the 2007 World Championships in Melbourne.
