Cesar Cielo Filho from Brazil has won the gold medal in the men’s 50 meter freestyle, setting a new Olympic record of 21.30.
Amaury Leveaux from France won the silver medal and Alain Bernard also from France won the bronze.

Cullen Jones set a new American record in the 50 meter freestyle at the U.S. Olympic swimming trials currently being held.
“I’ll take an American record,” Jones said, smiling. “I definitely put my head down when I was going into the wall, but I think there’s a lot more in the tank.”
