Kenenisa Bekele from Ethiopia has won the gold medal in the men’s 5000 meters setting a new Olympic Record time of 12:57.82.
Kenya’s Eliud Kipchoge won the silver medal and Edwin Cheruiyot Soi also from Kenya won the bronze medal.
Tirunesh Dibaba of Ethiopia has won the gold medal in the women’s 5000 meters at the Beijing Olympics adding to her gold she won in the 10,000.

Asafa Powell beats Usain Bolt at DN Galan meet
Asafa Powell beat the world record holder Usain Bolt by just one-hundredth of a second at the DN Galan meet.
He won the 100 meter sprint in 9.88 seconds. Bolt was a little slow out of the starting blocks and almost caught Asafa Powell at the finishing line.
