How is NBC’s streaming service

I found a link on Twitter to a replay of one of tonight’s matches on NBC’s Olympic video service. I made up a U.S. postcode and cable provider and downloaded Microsoft’s Silverlight plugin which you need to watch the videos.

I read so often that you need Microsoft Vista to see the videos, but it worked fine on my Home Edition of Windows XP. The connection was jumpy which is probably due more to the firewalls and proxies I need to use to access the Internet in China. I can’t imagine using it to watch all of the events, but if I want to catch a replay of something, I am sure it is going to be useful. If you are in the U.S. with a good internet connection, I am sure it would work well for you and if you are in an office it could be an excellent solution to keep up with the action.
