The United States Olympic Committee have developed a high-tech mask for its 600 athletes for the Beijing Olympics, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Will the U.S. athletes wear them though, especially when billions of people will be watching as they walk into the Birds Nest stadium during the opening ceremony.

“When you’re walking around with a mask on, you’re basically saying, ‘You guys stink,’ ” says Scott Schnitzspahn, performance director of the U.S. triathlon team.

The mask was developed in secrecy and details are yet to be released. Britain unveiled its mask for athletes earlier this year.
