Trash treatment plant opens in Beijing
As part of Beijing’s commitment to creating a “green Olympics”, the city has opened a kitchen trash treatment plan in southern Beijing.
Trash will be collected from 122 hotels and the 31 Olympic sporting facilities.
“Before the Olympics opens in 2008, a larger number of these restaurants and canteens will have their trash collected together and treated,” said Guo Weidong, a publicity official with Beijing utility administration commission.
