Six star treatment for Olympic horses
Horses going to Hong Kong for the equestrian events at the Beijing Olympics are expected to get 6-star treatment.
The stables will have “automatic drink dispensers, air conditioning and rubber walls and flooring to prevent horses accidentally injuring themselves.” They will even have play rooms(?) for the horses for the first time at an equestrian event.
Earlier this year there were reports that the Swiss equestrian team had pulled out of the Beijing Olympics over concerns of Hong Kong’s humidity, which is partly why organizers have taken extra steps to ensure the comfort of the horses.
