Despite a massive relief and reconstruction effort that is pulling resources to central China’s earthquake-ravaged Sichuan province, Chinese officials said they remain on track with preparations for the Beijing Olympics which start on the 8th of August.

Preparations have moved into the last and critical stage for the Olympic Games and while everyone is working hard for quake relief, equal importance is being paid to games preparations with importance being given to ensure one does not delay the other.

If anything, the disaster has helped the crisis management team test their skills ahead of China’s biggest ever sporting event.
