Beijing’s airport is 16 miles or 27 kilometers from the center of town and takes around 30 minutes to get ther depending on the traffic.

An airport express bus operates between the airport and major destinations in the capital. It is a good idea to know which area your hotel is located so you catch the right bus. The route to Beijing station costs 16 RMB.

A taxi will cost around 85 RMB including the highway toll. Insist on the taxi driver using the meter and be careful of unscroupolous touts trolling the airpot for unsuspecting foreigners.

A light rail link is currently under construction and is planned to be completed by the commencement of the Beijing Olympic Games.
