Chinese spectators get taught how to cheer at Olympics

Planning for the Beijing Olympics is getting more detailed now as the games approach, even down to how spectators should cheer.

The Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee has come up with as series of slogans and routines which they are planning to teach to spectators through broadcasts before and during the events.

The routines include, “giving a double thumbs-up, and waving both arms with clenched fists”. These are accompanied by slogans, which the article doesn’t specifically mention, but will probably include “Zhonguo jiaoyou!” (go China).

I read about this on the BBC website. They had an actual layout of the cheer. Lets see, you clap twice, give a double thumbs up, clap 2 more times, then raise your clenched fists into the air. I guess they are leaving nothing out when it comes to planning, huh?
