Why George Bush is going to the Beijing Olympics

George Bush is on the way out so he really doesn’t have to worry about what people think now about his decisions (not sure if he ever did anyway!), so it is not too much of a surprise that he wouldn’t pass on a chance to see the opening ceremony of the Olympics live.

I view the Olympics as a opportunity for me to cheer on our athletes. It’s an athletic event. I had the honor of dealing with the Chinese – two Chinese Presidents – during my term, and every time I have visited with them I have talked about religious freedom and human rights. . .

I also believe that the Chinese people are watching very carefully about the decisions by world leaders. . . I happen to believe not going to the opening games would be . . . an affront to the Chinese people, which may make it more difficult. . . to be able to speak frankly with the Chinese leadership. That’s why I’m doing what I’m doing. And I’m looking forward to cheering the athletes.

FU** YOU! You don’t know sh** about our President, so shut the hell up. He was proud to be there FOR our Olympic performers. I can guarantee you if he DIDN’T go, he’d also get slammed for that. He cannot win for losing, so just drop your elitism at the door.
