Zagat releases guide for Beijing
Popular restaurant review guide Zagat have released their first book on Beijing in time for the Olympics. The guide not only has restaurant reviews, but also hotels, nightspots, shops and tourist attractions.
I haven’t had a chance to look at the guide, but I can imagine most of their listings are for high-end restaurants, suitable for people with company expense accounts.
Another guide which I rely on almost daily for information on Beijing is the Insider’s Guide to Beijing.
The guide has listings for both budget and high end restaurants, hotels, attractions and bars in Beijing. It is aimed at expats living in Beijing, but anyone visiting Beijing for the Olympics will find both the listings and the different articles that appear throughout the book informative and interesting. The book also has fold out maps and most of the listings have the addresses in Chinese which can help to a certain degree getting to places by taxi.
It has been a long time since we had been on a family trip. Visiting with friends is obviously fun, but a tour with family has its own charm. I was always fascinated by the capital city of China. So, we all planned to visit Beijing. But we needed to plan well in advance all places to visit, in which hotel to stay etc. I searched on internet and came upon this amazing site http://www.localnoodles.com/index/index.aspx, which helped us in all our pre-plannings for a journey to Beijing.
