Taiwan to host two baseball qualifying events
Taiwan will be hosting two qualifying events for the Beijing Olympics.
“We will hold the Asian Olympics Qualifiers and another qualifying game to select three more teams which will join the Beijing Olympics with wild card,” Lin Tsung-cheng, seretary-general of Taiwan’s baseball association said.
The first event will be held from December 1-3. Taiwan, Japan and South Korea and the winner of a competition between Pakistan, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand will compete.
The Netherlands, United States and Cuba have already qualified for the event. The second event will be held in March 2008 between seven countries for three additional wildcard spots.
