The Spanish media is fighting back over accusations that the advertisement of Spanish basketballers pulling back their eyes was racist.

The Chinese Embassy in Spain that China considers the ad “neither racist nor offensive.” According to the embassy statement, “Ultimately there are very good relations between the Chinese government and the Spanish, and between the two peoples there is no conflict whatsoever.”

It looks like we might also get sued for even bringing it up:

La Libertad carries an article from the Spanish news agency EFE reporting that the Spanish Basketball Federation is considering bringing suit against The Guardian and several American media outlets and blogs for touching off the kerfuffle.
