Olympic coach released from jail
A federal judge has released US Olympic wrestling coach Roman Wroclawski after seven months in a private prison in Florence at the request of Polish authorities on claims that he falsified loan documents and embezzled money from companies he owned in Poland in the 90s.
Wroclawski was released after the judge sided with him on his argument that special circumstances existed for his release pending the extradition hearing later in the summer. Those circumstances were based around the need of his expertise by wrestlers planning to compete at the Beijing Olympic games coupled with the fact that the Polish government had yet to explain why it had taken more than 11 years to seek extradition.
