Hospitals won’t be using Chinese medicine during Olympics

The Beijing Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games (BOCOG) announced that Chinese medicine won’t be used to treat athletes during the Olympic games in Beijing, citing concerns related to doping.
“It doesn’t necessarily mean herbal medicine contains provocative substances. As other Olympic host countries haven’t used it before, we choose not to use it too,” said Dai Jianping, deputy director of the BOCOG’s service department, at an international medical forum.
Although some other Chinese treatments including acupunture will be used during the games. Athletes will receive free medical treatment during the Olympics.
