Amanda Beard to appear on cover of Sega game: Beijing 2008
Amanda Beard has appeared on covers of FHM. Playboy and Sports Illustrated, now she will be appearing on the cover of a new game from Sega.
She recently did an interview with Das Gamer.
First computer game:
I was addicted to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I played that game a lot. I was the best at the Nintendo Power Pad. My family used to play World Class Track Meet on that. It was quite a workout.
Favorite game:
I like playing Jaws Unleashed. I know that sounds stupid, but I like playing as the shark and destroying ships and eating the divers. Those are my kind of games.
Ont Nintendo’s Wii:
I think it’s great for kids, especially. Kids love playing videogames but to get them off the couch and playing around and getting interactive is fantastic. It’s like getting exercise while playing videogames. This should have been invented a long, long time ago. I think it will help with our obesity problem with younger kids.
An on Sega’s game for the Olympics:
Swimming is really hard in the game. The first couple of times I played I was really bad. I spent an hour and a half on the game because I couldn’t walk away without a half-decent score in swimming.
My philosophy is: Sports should be played in the real world — always. Meanwhile, war games should be played in the virtual world. Pretend war is good. Pretend sports are bad.
If I’m a game publisher — Amanda would be my first pick too. Same too if I was single. Oh well.
Furthermore, my kids have played a good deal of sports games on the computer. While I don’t love it — we’ll check it out, I imagine, some day. But that will be after a 5,000 meter workout.
This summer we all played a bunch of the game, “Call of Duty.” My kids blow me away — generally — for pretend.
Good luck Amanda. Hope to see her at the podium.
