IOC launches inquiry into underage gymnasts

The IOC is launching an investigation over allegations that He Kexin was too young to compete in the Beijing Olympics.

He Kexin could be stripped of her medals, if the allegations prove correct.

She won the gold medal in the uneven bars and was part of women’s all-around gymnastics team event which beat the United States to win the gold medal.

“My real age is 16. I don’t pay any attention to what everyone says,” she is reported as telling journalists.

Her passport lists her birthday as 01/01/1992, which does seem a little too convenient.

It’s about time. Would this mean the US team would get the gold (if true) or just that she(He) would lose her team gold?
