South Korea wins badminton mixed doubles

Lee Hyo-jung and Lee Yong-dae from South Korea upset the world’s number one pair Liliyana Natsir and Nova Widianto of Indonesia to win the badminton mixed doubles gold.
China’s He Hanbin and Yu Yang beat Flandy Limpele and Vita Marissa of Indonesia to take the bronze medal.

Maria Kristin Yulianti from Indonesia has won the bronze medal in the women’s singles badminton by defeating China’s Lu Lan: 11-21, 21-13, 21-15.
China’s Xie Xingfang and defending Olympic champion Zhang Ning are currently playing for the gold medal.

Zhang Xiangxiang won another gold medal for China in the men’s 62kg weightlifting. He lifted a total of 319 kilograms.
Diego Salazar of Colombia took the silver medal and Triyatno from Indonesia won the bronze.

China has added to its growing list of gold medals tonight, this time in the the men’s 56 kilogram weightlifting. Long Qingqua 17, lifted 292kg to snatch the gold medal.
Hoang Anh Tuan of Vietnam finished second and Eko Yuli Irawan from Indonesia won the bronze medal.

Olympic champion Taufik Hidayat from Indonesia will be focusing on training for the All-England championships in March and the Beijing Olympics in August this year.
Hidayat won the gold medal in Athens Olympics 2004.

Indonesia is putting its hopes for an Olympic gold medal in the badminton mixed doubles. Nova Widianto and Lilyana Natsir are ranked second in the world. Team mates Flandy Limpele and Vita Marissa are ranked fourth.
