Emergency pollution controls to start in Beijing
After the air clearing up for a brief moment on Tuesday a cloud of haze has crept back over Beijing today. There has been some light rain the last couple of days, but nothing strong enough to really clear the air.
There is also practically no wind. It’s fairly cool right now, but it could turn sour if the humidity comes back.
Authorities are planning on closing down more factories, stopping all construction work completely and considering even more cut backs on cars. I think now, only favorable weather will produce clear skies for the Olympics.
Here is how the sky looks this morning at 9:00 a.m.
July 29th
July 28th
And the best day I have ever seen in Beijing. July 6th.
