First day of Beijing’s car reduction plan

Today was the second day of Beijing’s car reduction plan to help reduce congestion and pollution for the Beijing Olympics. Almost every car I saw was obeying the odd and even rule.

I took this picture at about 6 p.m, so you can see even though the number of cars (excluding taxis) should be less than half, the roads are still fairly busy. As for the pollution, it could be described as slightly better, but still probably not at a level suitable for endurance events. Of course, we still have a couple more weeks to go before the opening ceremony.
