Britta Steffen wins women’s 100 meter freestyle sets OR
Britta Steffen from Germany has won the gold medal in the women’s 100 meter freestyle setting a new Olympic record of 53.12.
Lisbeth Trickett from Australia won the bronze medal. Just 4/100ths of a second separated Steffen and Trickett.
Natalie Coughlin from the United States won the bronze medal.
