Spain has the dubious honor of having the first athlete to fail a doping test.

The athlete was cyclist, Maria Isabel Moreno and tested positive for the drug EPO. She was to compete in the women’s road race and individual time trial. She faces a two year ban and may miss the London 2012 Olympics due to new IOC doping rules.
