Samuel Sanchez wins men’s road race

Samuel Sanchez from Spain won the 245.4 km road race just now - the longest course in Olympic history.

He completed the race in 6:23.49. Davide Rebellin from Italy finished second to take the silver and Fabian Cancellara from Switzerland came third.

It was also the first time for race to start and finish in different places. The weather today has been fairly hot and humid, so I am sure it would have been a difficult race for the riders.
