Australian doctor warns of getting a tattoo in Beijing

An Australian doctor has warned athletes of getting tattoos when they visit Beijing for next years Olympic Games. It is common for Australian sports people to race off to the tattoo parlor to celebrate their victory with a lasting souvenir.

“People need to be aware of the dangers, people go and get the rings tattooed and it is an issue,” said Australian team doctor Peter Baquie.

“It would be lovely if they got the rings back home.”

He also warned athletes of the high risks of hepatitis B, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis A and typhoid. An immunization program has been made available to athletes.
