The South China Morning Post reported that police were asking bar owners to refuse service to black people and Mongolians during the Olympics. Bloggers and some news sites have picked up on the story and are reporting it as fact.

SCMP has another story now saying that police deny such claims, yet the story has a quote from a bar owner saying:

“They made us sign and chop a document saying we would not allow black people in [during the Olympics],” the owner said. “But no one is willing to say so because we’ll all get deported … and have our business shut.”

Blogger, Beijing Boyce did a tour of Sanlitun on Saturday night and couldn’t find any evidence of a ban.
