A UK based company is sending 1000 roses to Beijing to be planted around the city, presumably in the new Green Zone which is home to Beijing National Stadium and swimming center.

“We were absolutely delighted to be asked to provide these roses for the Beijing Olympics. We have got a world-wide reputation for our roses and we have a huge range of different varieties on offer. We already send them to 50 countries world-wide and Japan is one of our biggest customers, but this is the biggest order that we have ever had from China,” said Amanda Beales of the family run company.
