Beijings Olympic Venues
There is a planned total of 31 venues that will be used for the Beijing Olympic Games - 11 will be new venues, another 11 are existing venues that will be revamped and another 9 will be of temporary construction.
The stadium for the opening and closing cermonies was designed by the Swiss architectural firm Herzog and de Meuron Architects. The stadium has been given the nick name the “birds nest” for its nest-like look and will seat 100,000 people.

Although it won’t be included as one of the 28 official sports, Wushu will be played as a competitive event.

It is the start of a an almost 3 year project. I am hoping I can see it through to the end!
