Takahashi to miss Asian Games
Sydney gold medalist Naoko Takahashi is planning to miss the Asia Games to prepare herself for the Beijing Olympics.
“I don’t have a medal from the world championships, so I have the itch to run in Osaka next year. However, my primary goal is to run in the Beijing Olympics and I’ll look for the best possible way to achieve that,” she added.

Obadele Thompson to skip Commonwealth Games
Like a few other top athletes, Obadele Thompson is skipping the up coming Commonwealth Games to be hosted in Melbourne, Australia.
"The Olympics are on the horizon, and I have a lot of work ahead of me to get my body in shape," Thompson was quoted as saying in The Nation. "That’s why I decided to give my body some rest, and skip the Commonwealth Games.

Coach confident for Liu Xiang
Chinese coach Sun Haiping, is confident that Liu Xian can break the world record for the men’s 100 meter hurdles.
Liu scored a gold medal at the Athens Games in 2004.
“We have achieved our scheduled objectives in the winter training and Liu has laid a solid foundation for a more difficult 2007.
“We will intensify the strength training in the new season. If Liu can complete these tasks, his body quality and strength will be greatly improved.”
