The National Sports Commission in Nigeria is confident they will be able to surpass expectations at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Director of Technical and Coaching, Alhaji Ahmed P. Yahaya recently said, “I was thrilled at the commitment of both the athletes and officials saying that the commission have taken immediate steps to boost the morale of the athletes as well as address their complaints to avoid any distraction from the task at hand.”
