The managing director of team USA Jerry Colangelo is quietly confident of winning gold at the Beijing Olympics.

“I’m not nervous. I’m excited. There is no apprehension at all,” Colangelo told ESPN.com Sunday in an hour-long interview focused on the Beijing Olympics. “If we are in the right frame of mind, if we respect the opposition, then we’ve got a great opportunity to accomplish our goal.”

The United States team is favorite for the event but faces competition from Argentina, Spain, Russia and Lithuania.
