Nephat Kinyanjui from Kenya won the Beijing Marathon on Sunday. Kinyanjui won with a time of 2 hours 8 minutes and 8 seconds, followed by Chinese runners Ren Longyun and Han Gang.

China’s Chen Rong won the women’s event with a time of 2:27:05. Zhang Yingying and Bia Xue, both from China came second and third respectively. The course only partly followed that of next years marathon for the Beijing Olympics.
