Kazakhstan women’s volleyball makes it through to Olympics
Kazakhstan booked the final spot in the women’s volleyball at Beijing Olympics. They defeated Thailand in a tournament played in Tokyo, Japan.
The players from Kazakhstan hadn’t realized they had qualified for the Beijing Olympics until the press conference.
“I’ve never had such a happy surprise,” Kazakhstan coach Viktor Zhuravlev said. “There are no words to describe how I feel.”
The twelves countries to qualify include: China, Italy, Brazil, United States, Japan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Algeria, Cuba, Venezuela, Poland and Serbia.
