Katie Mactier gold medal favourite for 3000m Individual Pursuit
Australia’s Katie Mactier happened on cycling almost by accident but now she’s preparing for the Beijing Olympics where she is a hot favourite to take out the event.
The advertising executive took up the sport 9 years ago at the age of 24 after discovering an appetite for the sport while competing in triathlons.
Mactier won the gold medal a the 2006 Commonwealth Games after smashing the world record in Athens at the 2004 Olympic Games.
THis might be wrong, but how could she have smashed the world record in Athens when Sarah Ulmer won gold inthis event? Did they both smash th record?
