India fails to qualify for the Beijing Olympics

For the first time in 80 years the Indian men’s hockey team failed to qualify for the Olympics. They lost to Great Britain 2-0 in a qualifier in Santiago. India has won gold eight times at the Olympics.

China, Netherlands, South Korea, Canada, South Africa, Spain, Belgium, Pakistan and Australia have now qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Indeed that was a sad day for Indian Hockey. We spend so much money on cricket but reserve so less for hockey.
Ironically, hockey is our national game!!!

really every one should shame on us bcus of this happen. we people are not much more aware on hockey like cricket. the point is there is no more encouragement for hockey. we have to think for that and shame on us…
