I was pretty hot and tired after walking around the Beijing Botanical Garden, so I took a taxi back to where I got on the subway. It was a long way, but traffic is usually pretty light on a Sunday and even though the subway is cheap, I like to see Beijing above ground.

I didn’t realize it, but the odd and even car system actually started on Sunday. There were very few cars on the road.

Today (Monday) I went for a short walk near my apartment and did notice less cars on the road. It is an odd day today and only spotted one even car driving around. I think it was a BMW - if you can afford a BMW you probably aren’t going to be too worried about a $20 fine.
