Dodgy Beijing massage ads in Google’s Gmail

I have a few different Google alerts set up in my Gmail account for monitoring news on Beijing and the Olympics.

Google serves up contextual ads at the top of my message and down along the right side. Mostly I see the usual ads for Olympic tickets and hotels, but this ad for “Eva Massage” was something a bit different.

The website doesn’t have any explicit nudity, but there is a good chance their massage services are not of the chiropractic kind.

With the Olympics approaching the government is cracking down on all immoral and illegal activities in the capital, so it is interesting to see these kinds of places using technology to reach their potential customers. I know Google cannot monitor all of its ads but I thought they would be a little more attentive when it comes to the sensitiveness of China and the coming Olympics.
