It’s day four of the car ban, where people are only allowed to use their cars on alternate days and I haven’t noticed any change in the air quality. I rode my bike around to take some pictures and I can’t say the air is much better, nor is the traffic congestion any better.

I am sure commuters may have noticed a small difference, but it doesn’t stop bad habits of Chinese drivers. Note to Chinese drivers: changing lanes every few minutes does not get you to your destination any quicker. You see so many near misses on the roads - people seem to just pull out without checking their mirrors.

The air today is that typical white blanket of haze; it is also fairly hot and humid, making it pretty uncomfortable to be outside.
