We are only hours into the first day of the Beijing Olympics and the first medal has been awarded to Katerina Emmons of the Czech Republic in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle. Emmons had a total of 503.5 and broke the Olympic record.

Silver medal was won by Lioubov Galkina from Russia and bronze medal to Snjezana Pejcic from Croatia.
