China’s migrant workers
China’s migrant workers who come to the cities to work face a range of living and health problems. They come to work and earn money in the big cities, but cut themselves off from health, education and housing services that they would normally receive in their hometowns.
The new Beijing Olympic stadiums were built by China’s migrant workforce. They received slightly higher wages than normal, but may have to return to the countryside while the games are on.
