China allows lepers to attend Olympics
China has decided to reverse its decision to ban lepers for the Beijing Olympics.
“The reason we lifted the ban is that the United Nations Human Rights Council passed a resolution on June 18 for the elimination of discrimination against leprosy sufferers,” an official said.
The Telegraph ran with a great headline: Beijing Olympics 2008: China bars businessmen, but lepers okay in a response to the banning of business visas until after the Olympics.
It is none of my business, but, … We’re more interested in seeing the Bengal Tigers and Pandas than Leopards. Our local university teams use the panther and nitany lions as mascots. Big cats are no big deal. Fat cats, that’s different.
@rauterkus Is it my imagination or did you just confuse Lepers and Leopards?
