Canada misses out on a medal by 1cm
Dylan Armstrong from Canada missed out on bronze medal last night by just 1 centimeter in the men’s shot-put final.
“It’s a little bit heartbreaking,” Armstrong, 27, said at Beijing’s National Stadium. “Yeah, it’s probably something that will be kind of in the back of my mind for as long as I live, but I’m young at this event.”
Canada is yet to win a single medal at the Beijing Olympics, so the whole country will share Armstrong’s disappointment.
“A centimetre,” Armstrong said Friday. “Really, it’s nothing. A centimetre is nothing. But that’s the way it is and I’ll take all this experience that I gained (Friday) in Beijing and I’ll move forward and have a better year next year.”
