British athletes to sign special contracts for Beijing Olympics

British athletes will be required for the first time to sign a special contract “pledging not to make politically sensitive remarks or gestures while in China, at the risk being sent home.”

The Olympic charter does already ban competitors from any “kind of demonstration, or political, religious or racial propaganda in the Olympic sites, venues or other areas.”
